Survey Engineer | Master of Geospatial-Intelligence | GIS Project Management | Spatial Database Management | GIS Solutions | Drone Mapping & Applications | Data Governance

A Survey Engineer and Geospatial-Intelligence professional working to better understand and improve Geospatial Industry services. I did my bachelor’s degree in Surveying Engineering. Also, I did my master’s degree in Geospatial Intelligence in Australia.

I created many GIS applications and solutions based on various geospatial topics. In addition, I have worked on and managed various GIS projects during the last 13 years. Therefore, I am curious about developing new ideas and innovating/managing feasible solutions to broadly relevant problems.

From 2020 to the present day, I have implemented an initiative for spatial data and programming for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (https://saudia.xyz) to manage and provide convenient services for the community, searchers, and those interested in geospatial information generally.

Education

Education

Curtin University

Master of Geospatial Intelligence

2023

The course provides education and training in the field of geospatial technology and analysis, with a focus on the use of Python, JavaScript, and R programming languages. Students will learn how to collect, analyze, and interpret geographical data and how to use geospatial tools and techniques to create maps and other visual representations of the data. The curriculum covers topics such as remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), and geospatial analysis methods. In addition to these topics, students will also gain hands-on experience with Python, JavaScript, and R, learning how to use these programming languages for geospatial data analysis and visualization. Graduates of the program will have a strong foundation in both geospatial intelligence and programming, making them well-equipped to work in a variety of industries that rely on this type of expertise.

bachelor degree of Survey Engineering

2010

Thesis Topic “LEVERAGING WEB-BASED GIS AND OPEN-SOURCE SOFTWARE
TO MANAGE, VISUALIZE AND SHARE HETEROGENEOUS DATA – CASE STUDY: POIs CITY OF PERTH”

Grade: DISTINCTION

This research investigated the possibility of dealing with heterogeneous spatial and non-spatial data of the Perth city dataset in Western Australia. As a result, a framework has been created that automates transformation, manipulation and data management processes through open-source technologies. This study seeks to build a framework that helps provide updated spatial datasets that allow researchers to access data. In addition, these data are in formats that benefit the researchers’ communities and increase the use of FAIR principles in geospatial data.

The proposed framework also contributes to increasing data access in accordance with the FAIR principles regarding data accessibility and interoperability. Also, the open-source web framework was able to display spatial data and create a web map application for the city of Perth.

OSM ChatGPT

2024-NOW
OSM-GPT merges the capabilities of GPT-3 with the Overpass API to simplify accessing OpenStreetMap (OSM) data through natural language. This innovation aims to make it straightforward for anyone to explore OSM by removing the barrier of complex query languages. Users can now articulate their searches in simple, everyday language, thanks to GPT-3’s understanding capabilities. Additionally, the integration with the Overpass API ensures that these user-friendly queries are effectively translated into actions that fetch relevant map features from OSM.
